Wrexham right-back Javan Vidal could be out for up to two months after undergoing surgery on his groin.
Vidal, 26, suffered the injury in the warm up before Wrexham's 4-0 win against Gateshead in the National League on 14 November.
"That's a blow for us," Wrexham manager Gary Mills said.
Centre-back Manny Smith will continue to deputise at right-back during Vidal's absence.
"Manny's a good defender and has certainly shown he can step in at right-back and do a good job for us," Mills added.
