Portsmouth defender Matt Clarke says he is open to extending his stay at Fratton Park.

Clarke joined Portsmouth on loan from Championship side Ipswich in August.

The 19-year-old has made 16 appearances for the League Two side so far this season.

"If Ipswich want me to stay here and so do Portsmouth then I will be here," Clarke, whose current loan deal is due to expire in January, told BBC Radio Solent.

"The main thing is about improving myself as a player and there are some experienced pros here to learn from.

"The plan is hopefully that this is getting me ready to go back and play at Ipswich."

The defender extended his contract with the Tractor Boys until 2018 in September.
