Grimsby Town 1-0 Dover Athletic

Padraig Amond scored an injury-time penalty against Dover Athletic to extend Grimsby Town's National League winning run to five games.

Amond netted his 17th goal of the season, following Richard Orlu's foul on Conor Townsend.

Grimsby goalkeeper James McKeown denied Ricky Modeste, one of a string of fine saves, while Andy Monkhouse and Craig Clay went close at the other end.

Amond's winner moved Grimsby above Dover into fourth spot in the table.

Grimsby manager Paul Hurst told BBC Radio Humberside:

"That's the best three points of the season for me today. I think some people turn up and think we're playing Dover, who are Dover? But if you look at the League table and where they are you can see that they're very difficult to play against, a threat and a good side.

"It was a real team effort and it needed to be and that was stated to the players beforehand. They did everything that was asked of them and more.

"For me we were the better team today. We were the ones looking to play. They play a certain way and that's up to them. What they have got is three lads up front that are dangerous in their own right and for large parts of the game we kept them quiet. "
