James Norwood gave the visitors the lead midway through the first half as he slotted home Gary Taylor-Fletcher's pass.
Halifax fought back just before the break as Josh MacDonald's cross found Nicky Wroe on the edge of the box.
Jordan Burrow was sent off late in the second half for Halifax but the home side were able to hold on for a draw.
