Guernsey FC boss Tony Vance plays down good form
Guernsey FC manager Tony Vance is refusing to get carried away by his side's impressive recent form.
The Green Lions have won four of their last five matches to move into the play-off places in Isthmian League Division One South.
"Some people are going to get excited about he fact we're in the play-offs, and thinking we can do this or that.
"But we're one group of players not being available away from some dodgy results and slipping down," Vance said.
Guernsey host Tooting and Mitcham United on Saturday in their final home game of 2015, having last won 2-0 away at high-flying Worthing, a result Vance described as 'one of his best'.
The squad is still affected by a number of injuries, but Vance hopes to have a full bench for the game with Tooting at Footes Lane.
"We've got to look over our shoulder, there's no doubt about that, there are teams below us that have got games in hand that can overtake us and out we go from the play-offs," he told BBC Radio Guernsey.
"We've just got to keep trying to pick results here and there, the home games are so important to us, we don't really expect too much when we go away to be fair.
"If we've got the right resources, the right consistency in the squad and the right composition, then we can get results, but it's the home games where we've really got to try and get maximum points as possible."
