Exeter City 0-2 AFC Wimbledon

Lyle Taylor
Lyle Taylor's goal was his ninth of the season

AFC Wimbledon won for the first time since October, thanks to two goals in the first half at Exeter.

Tom Elliott headed in Barry Fuller's excellent cross to give the Dons the lead early on.

And after a long ball forward caused confusion in the Exeter defence, Wimbledon striker Lyle Taylor lobbed keeper Bobby Olejnik for the second.

Tom Nichols saw his free-kick well saved and Clinton Morrison hit the post late on for the Grecians.

AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley told BBC Radio London:

Ardley on Exeter v Wimbledon

"I'm delighted. Obviously on Saturday, we had spent 86 minutes with 10 men and put in a brilliant performance against Bristol Rovers.

"The energy levels and the commitment the players showed today was phenomenal, with tired legs as well, a lot of people limping and bruised.

"Two clean sheets and four points is brilliant over the last two games."
