Colchester United goalkeeper Sam Walker has signed a new two-year deal to run through to 2018 despite being sidelined by a serious injury.
Walker was ruled out for this season after injuring knee ligaments in the League Cup against Reading in August.
The 24-year-old kept 13 clean sheets in 49 appearances in all competitions for the League One side last term.
The former Chelsea trainee has been missed by Colchester, who have conceded 55 goals in 22 league games this term.
Walker had two loan spells with the U's before joining them on a free transfer in January 2014.
