Strikers Alex Fisher and Bayan Fenwick have left Torquay United.

Fisher, 25, asked to be released from his contract for personal reasons after scoring five goals in 21 appearances for the National League club.

And boss Kevin Nicholson confirmed Fenwick, 22, has left by mutual consent after playing seven games this season.

The Gulls have signed goalkeeper Grant Fisher from Western Premier League side Buckland Athletic as cover for Dan Lavercombe.

The 24-year-old, who was once a youth player at Plainmoor, was needed because Lavercombe was the only goalkeeper at the club after Fabian Speiss left earlier this month.

Nicholson hopes to be able to bring in a number of other signings in the coming weeks.

"The board have been fantastic," he told BBC Radio Devon.

"They've given me a chance to really do something and maybe manoeuvre a few players around, maybe get a few in, and I think that should stir things up with the lads here now and certainly give us a bit of fresh impetus going into January.

"A lot of these lads now have got to really stand up and be counted."

Meanwhile, the National League have ratified the proposed groundshare of Torquay's Plainmoor home with Truro City during the 2016-17 season.
