Ali Crawford scored from the penalty spot to snatch a point for Hamilton in a dramatic Lanarkshire derby at Fir Park.
Scott MacDonald gave the home side the lead inside 10 minutes before Lucas Tagliapietra and Darian MacKinnon responded for Accies.
MacDonald levelled before Louis Moult headed Well back in front.
Keith Lasley saw red after handling in the box and Crawford buried the last-minute penalty to secure a point.
The hosts got off to the perfect start after just nine minutes, when McDonald glanced Josh Law's teasing cross from the left beyond the despairing Michael McGovern.
Well were up for the task and both McDonald and Liam Grimshaw came close to adding a second.
But Accies forced their way slowly back into the game and duly equalised after 25 minutes.
Crawford sent in a free-kick on the angle from around 25 yards out and Tagliapietra managed to head flick the ball backwards and into the net.
And three minutes later, Martin Canning's side took a dramatic lead thanks to a thundering 25-yard strike by MacKinnon that gave goalkeeper Connor Ripley no chance.
Into the second half and the home side were on level terms within a minute.
Moult found space on the left and, although McDonald fluffed his initial attempt to convert the cross, he turned the ball over the line while grounded.
The game raged from end to end and challenges were hard and fast, with six players finding their way into the book of referee Greg Aitken.
And on one of their many attacks the home side regained the lead, when Moult guided home his 12th of the season from six yards after McDonald's pinpoint cross.
There was a further blow for Hamilton with five minutes left when influential defender Tagliapietra had to be carried off after suffering what looked like a neck injury.
But there was a dramatic equaliser for the visitors when they were awarded a penalty in stoppage time.
Crawford fired in a shot that came off the arm of Lasley, who was shown a second yellow card followed by a red.
Crawford stepped up to the spot and sent Ripley the wrong way to snatch a point in a pulsating Lanarkshire derby.
