Elgin beat East Fife in what was on reflection a harsh result for the hosts.

The Fifers made all the running in the first half, with Kyle Wilkie, Steven Campbell, Jason Kerr and Ross Brown all having shots without success.

Archie MacPhee ventured forward and passed to Thomas Reilly to control and dispatch high past Ryan Goodfellow.

Elgin built on their lead and Kyle MacLeod added a second from a long pass by Marc McKenzie.
