West Ham playmaker Dimitri Payet is set to return to the squad for Saturday's home league match with Liverpool.
The 28-year-old France international, was expected to be sidelined for three months with an ankle injury sustained against Everton on 7 November.
But Hammers boss Slaven Bilic said: "He has been training with us for a couple of days. It is a great boost for us and he will be involved in the game."
Victor Moses and Winston Reid may also face Liverpool following injuries.
Moses, on loan from Chelsea, and defender Reid have both been out since 5 December because of hamstring injuries.
"There is a small chance that Moses and Reid will be in the squad but more likely for the FA Cup game against Wolves [on 9 January]," Bilic added.
Bilic, who said he did not expect to see much transfer activity at Upton Park "unless something exceptional comes along", added that Senegal international striker Diafra Sakho was also nearing a return, having been sidelined since suffering a thigh injury against West Brom on 29 November.
"If we are lucky Sakho will be back early February and we are happy with the squad. We did a good job during the summer," the Croatian said.
