Bury 0-0 Bradford City

League One rivals Bury and Bradford played out a goalless draw in the FA Cup third round.

City full-back Tony McMahon was closest to scoring before the break, but his free-kick rebounded off the post.

Bury struggled to create chances in the first half, while winger Craig Jones was taken to hospital after appearing to be knocked unconscious.

James Hanson fired over from McMahon's cross late on, but the hosts held on to force a replay at Valley Parade.

Bury manager David Flitcroft told BBC Radio Manchester:

"It was a good 0-0 draw really, quite a lot of goal line action and goal mouth action, two really committed teams and at times over-committed but the referee managed it that way and was quite consistent with how he managed it.

"Listen, first half Andrew Tutte is clean through , if he opens himself up and strokes that one in it could be a different encounter because they didn't really look like threatening us.

"It was important that we got a clean sheet with the recent number of goals we've conceded and I was really pleased with that aspect. A new keeper coming in as well, it's great for his first game to be able to keep a clean sheet."

Bradford assistant manager Steve Parkin: "Like we've seen many times before in cup ties, it was two committed teams and I thought the lads put in a committed display.

"It would have been nice to have nicked it at the end. In the context of the game I thought we just shaded it."
