Patrice Carteron has left African champions TP Mazembe after his contract with the DR Congo club came to an end.
His deal with the club ended on 23 December but the club only made the announcement official on 7 January.
Despite winning a fifth African title in November they then lost both of their matches at last month's Club World Cup in Japan.
The 45-year-old was appointed in May 2013 after leading Mali to third place at the Africa Cup of Nations.
As well as winning the 2015 Champions League he also won the Congo Super League a year earlier.
TP Mazembe are currently top of their group in the current season after nine matches.
