Carlisle United have signed Shrewsbury defender Mark Ellis on a permanent contract and extended Joe Thompson's deal to the end of the season.
Ellis, 27, arrived on loan in October and has now agreed a deal until the summer of 2018.
He has played six games so far for Keith Curle's side.
Winger Thompson, 26, signed an initial short-term contract at Brunton Park in July following a trial spell and has scored once in 15 appearances.
Meanwhile Bury forward Hallam Hope has extended his stay at Carlisle until 22 January, taking his stay to the maximum 93 days available.
"Joe is a very likeable character who has come in and showed a real determination to settle and progress," boss Curle told the club website.
"Mark has settled well here and he's shown us what he's all about."
Before his move to Carlisle, Thompson overcame cancer to return to football with Bury.
Ellis, meanwhile, played for Torquay, Forest Green, Crewe as well as Shrewsbury after beginning his career at Bolton.
