Hartlepool United have formed a partnership with Finnish top-flight club FC Lahti, with a view to the two teams exchanging players.
League Two side Pools visited Lahti, with chairman Gary Coxall, manager Ronnie Moore and chief executive Russ Green setting up the arrangement.
Lahti also have partnerships with teams in the Netherlands, Finland and Fluminense in Brazil.
"It's a very competitive league in Finland," Green told the club website.
"We think playing in it could be very beneficial for some of our younger players."
FC Lahti managing director Tomi Honkenen said: "We're very interested in the link with Hartlepool United - we play summertime football and Hartlepool play wintertime so it's a good fit in terms of players going in both directions."
