MK Dons midfielder Carl Baker will be out for around seven weeks with an ankle injury suffered in the 1-1 Championship draw with Leeds United.
The 33-year-old has scored five goals in 28 games for Karl Robinson's team this term but ruptured ankle ligaments 15 minutes into 2 January's match.
"We're devastated to lose Carl for an extended period," said Robinson.
"He's our top scorer and was player of the year last season - losing a player like that will impact any team."
