Chris Herd: Chesterfield midfielder signs contract extension

Chesterfield midfielder Chris Herd has extended his deal at the Proact Stadium through to the end of the season.
The 26-year-old Australia international joined the Spireites from Aston Villa in September and has made 16 appearances in all competitions.
Herd spent eight years at Villa Park but had loan spells at several clubs including Port Vale, Lincoln and Wigan.
Danny Wilson's Chesterfield are currently 17th in League One, five points clear of the relegation zone.
