Wrexham pull out of Women's Welsh Premier League

Wrexham Ladies FC have withdrawn from the Women's Welsh Premier League with immediate effect.

The club said they had found difficulty fulfilling fixtures after "an unprecedented loss of players over the summer."

The club added that pulling out would allow them to rebuild for the future.

Wrexham's results this season have been expunged and the league will now operate with 11 seasons for the remainder of the campaign.

"The Women's Welsh Premier League is a fantastic league and the club feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to have been an integral part of it's growth since its inception," the club said in a statement.

"We have simply taken a difficult but correct decision on our journey to rebuild and to create a foundation for girls and wome'ns football in not only Wrexham but in North Wales to continue to grow and to become successful."
