New Oldham Athletic boss John Sheridan has appointed Peter Shirtliff as his assistant manager.
Shirtliff, 54, has previously managed Mansfield Town and had a caretaker stint in charge at Bury after joining the Shakers as a number two.
He has also been an assistant at Tranmere and Swindon and played with Sheridan at Sheffield Wednesday.
"He's a good assistant manager and knows the game inside out," Sheridan told the club website.
"He will help us be more organised and I'm delighted to get him."
