B M'gladbach 1-3 Borussia Dortmund

Marco Reus has scored nine times in the Bundesliga for Dortmund this season

Borussia Dortmund reduced Bayern Munich's Bundesliga lead to eight points with victory at fourth-placed Borussia Monchengladbach.

Germany midfielder Marco Reus drove in the opener shortly before half-time from Lukasz Piszczek's pass.

Reus created the second five minutes after the interval, picking out Henrik Mkhitaryan to score.

Raffael pulled a goal back with a low shot, but Ilkay Gundogan converted a Mkhitaryan cross to make it 3-1.

Thomas Tuchel's side had to withstand a fair amount of Gladbach pressure in the second half, but Mats Hummels impressed in defence as the visitors won their first Bundesliga fixture after the winter break.

Dortmund are now eight points clear in second place after Hertha Berlin, in third, were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Augsburg, Liverpool's forthcoming Europa League round of 32 opponents.

Bayer Leverkusen missed the chance to move above Gladbach and into the top four as they drew 1-1 at Hoffenheim, for whom Omer Toprak equalised after Jiloan Hamed had scored in the first half.
