Forfar Athletic capitalised on Kieran Gibbons' first-half dismissal to ease to a first Scottish League One win in five months at Cowdenbeath.
Dean Brett scored a penalty after being fouled by Michael Kennedy but the hosts then conceded a spot-kick themselves.
Thomas O'Brien was brought down by Gibbons - his second booking resulting in a red card - and Andy Ryan netted.
