Reading defender Chris Gunter wants to remain at the club with his current contract set to run out in the summer.
The Wales international, 26, has been with The Royals since 2012 and has been ever-present this season.
"I want to stay and all the people at the club who make those decisions and have that power are aware of my feelings," he told BBC Radio Berkshire.
Boss Brian McDermott has also declared his desire to keep the former Nottingham Forest player at Reading.
Former Cardiff trainee Gunter, who moved to Tottenham for £2m in January 2008, is set to play a pivotal role for Wales at the Euro 2016 Finals.
"Hopefully, something can get done," he added on his contract situation. "There's no contract to sign, so there's nothing as formal as that yet.
"As a footballer, you're not really in control of that.
"If and when those conversations are had then fantastic. But up until then, you have to concentrate on making sure whenever you play, you give your best."
