Middlesbrough goalkeeper Tomas Mejias has signed a new deal until 2018.
The 27-year-old, who joined the club from Real Madrid in July 2014 after a previous loan spell at Boro, was out of contract at the end of the season.
He has started six games this season, all in the League Cup and FA Cup, including the penalty shoot-out win at Manchester United last October.
Mejias progressed through the youth system at Real Madrid and represented their Castilla reserve team.
