Brentford midfielder Sam Saunders has signed a one-year contract extension, keeping him to the Championship club until the summer of 2017.

The 32-year-old has scored 28 goals in 183 appearances since joining the Bees from Dagenham & Redbridge in 2009.

"Sam is the longest-serving player at the club and he knows Brentford inside out," head coach Dean Smith said.external-link

"He had options to go elsewhere, and for him to sign with us shows how much this club means to him."
