Queen's Park missed the chance to go to within a point of second place in League Two after a goalless draw at home to second-bottom Berwick Rangers.
The hosts, now four points off the top, thought they were ahead in the 14th minute but John Carter had his close-range effort ruled out for offside.
Queen's Park failed to take their chances thereafter, Jamie McKernon firing wide twice in the second half.
Chris Duggan also curled over a 25-yard free-kick late on as Berwick held on.
After the match, work began to relay the Hampden pitch for next Sunday's Scottish League Cup final between Hibernian and Ross County.
