Lewis Hawkins scored his first two senior goals as Hartlepool United ended a four-game League Two winless run with a 3-1 victory at Barnet.
The result puts Pools five points above York, who are second bottom of League Two in the relegation places.
Barnet had led when Fumnaya Shomotun struck from 20-yards out, but Hawkins levelled with a 35-yard drive.
He then bent one in from the edge of the box for a second, and Nathan Thomas sealed it with his own curling shot.
Mathew Stevens was denied a late consolation for the mid-table Bees when Trevor Carson saved his headed at close range.
Barnet manager Martin Allen told BBC Radio London:
"We've had some really good performances against some of the top teams.
"Today, after half an hour, I thought we lacked energy, we lacked legs, athleticism, mobility.
"It wasn't to be. We didn't have the high energy and tenacity that we play with."
