Two late goals saw Northern Ireland women fall to a 3-1 defeat by Italy in Tuesday's Euro 2017 qualifier in Reggio Emilia.

Alfie Wylie's side, 48 places below their opponents in the world rankings, took the lead through Everton striker Simone Magill in the 62nd minute.

Substitute Daniela Sabatino scored the equaliser on 71 minutes.

Ilaria Mauro put Italy ahead in the 86th minute and Danila Stracchi added a third right at the end.

It leaves Northern Ireland, ranked 62 by Fifa, fourth in Group Six with three points from three matches.

They started the qualifying campaign by winning in Georgia but were then thrashed 8-1 at home by Switzerland.
