Defender Ryan Tafazolli's career prospects will be best served by extending his stay with Mansfield Town, says Stags boss Adam Murray.
Tafazolli is contracted until the summer and has been offered what Murray said is "a very good deal" to remain.
The 24-year-old has played 107 league games for Mansfield since 2012.
Asked if Tafazolli is capable of playing at a higher level than League Two, Murray said: "He will make a bigger step if he stays with us."
Talking to BBC Radio Nottingham, Murray added: "He's still a baby at 24, he still needs 18 months with this team and under this guidance."
