Welsh Premier League champions The New Saints have signed Tom Matthews from Championship side Queens Park Rangers.
The 19-year-old defender joins Saints, who sealed a second successive domestic treble with victory against Airbus in the Welsh Cup, on a two-year deal.
"He's a young prospect, highly-rated as a footballing defender," TNS chairman Mike Harris told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"When you hear there's a chance of a player with that type of pedigree, you're always going to be interested."
Saints have also signed former Wigan Athletic midfielder Jon Routledge following his departure from Dumbarton.
Mike Wilde, Kai Edwards, Ryan Edwards, Danny Gosset, Jordan Wells, Fisnik Hajdari and Ryan Kershaw have been released by the club.
Striker Wilde scored over 150 goals in over 300 appearances in two spells with Saints.
