Jersey warmed up for the 100th Muratti final with a 5-2 win over the Essex and Suffolk Border League at Springfield.

With manager Brian Little absent because of Aston Villa commitments, the island side went ahead through Karl Hinds after just three minutes.

Josh Dalziel soon equalised, but Jake Baker and Michael Weir netted to make it 3-1 by half-time.

A brace from substitute Daryl Wilson made the game safe before Dalziel's late consolation.

"We're in good shape and we've rested a few players today just so that we can make sure we're fresh for next week," assistant manager Martin Cassidy told BBC Radio Jersey.

"There were some good performances, some nice spells of play and we got good goals."

The Reds face rivals Guernsey next weekend in the Muratti Vase final.
