Newtown 4-2 Carmarthen: After opening goalless draws for both sides, Chris Hughes' side overcame Carmarthen thanks to two goals in two minutes from Jason Oswell and efforts from Neil Mitchell and Ryan Kershaw. Dwaine Bailey and Mark Jones scored for the visitors.

Rhyl 0-3 Cefn Druids, 14:30 BST: Cefn Druids shrugged off an opening day defeat with a comprehensive victory at Rhyl. Aaron Bowen, Jordan Barrow and Adam Eden got the goals.

Llandudno 0-5 New Saints, 17:15 BST: Champions New Saints left the hosts winless and goalless in the WPL with a ruthless display. They led on seven minutes through Adrian Cieslewicz and Christian Seargeant's penalty doubled the lead on the stroke of half time. Seargeant scored the third before Ryan Brobbel and Scott Quigley struck.

Airbus UK Broughton 0-1 Aberystwyth Town: Aberystwyth took the spoils for Matt Bishop's side on a dominant weekend for away teams in the WPL. Geoff Kellaway's 31st-minute goal won it for the visitors.

Bangor City 0-2 Gap Connah's Quay: Connah's Quay got revenge on Bangor who did the double over them last season to inflict a first defeat on new boss Andy Legg. Wes Baynes and Callum Morris got the goals and Bangor had Christian Langos sent off.

Cardiff Met 0-1 Bala Town: The return of Welsh Premier football in the capital after a ten-year hiatus could not inspire the hosts who lost out to Anthony Stephens' 19th minute penalty.
