Peterborough United manager Grant McCann praised "phenomenal" Paul Taylor after scoring in his side's 5-1 win over Millwall in League One on Tuesday.

Striker Taylor, 28, re-signed for Peterborough in July after last playing for Blackburn in 2015.

"In the first half he was unplayable, he is an excellent player," McCann told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

"The way he turns with the ball, it is so quick, I knew it would cause Byron Webster and Tony Craig problems."

Peterborough bounced back from Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Bradford with a dominant performance, scoring three goals in the opening 20 minutes.

Taylor, Marcus Maddison, Tom Nichols and midfielder Gwion Edwards, who scored two, found the net for Posh.

"I thought we were excellent from minute one, we showed our intent that we wanted to get at them," added McCann. "We've scored five excellent goals, we thoroughly deserved the victory."
