Portsmouth's Gareth Evans knows team must start to deliver in League Two

Two Adam Campbell goals saw Portsmouth lose their second home game in a row

Portsmouth midfielder Gareth Evans believes the time has come for his side to deliver in League Two following a second successive home defeat.

Pompey were beaten 2-1 by Notts County on Saturday as they slipped five points behind the automatic promotion places.

"We can't afford to lose too much more ground," Evans told BBC Radio Solent.

"We can't keep making excuses and keep saying that we're going to go on a run. We've got to stop talking about it and just go and do it."

Portsmouth had picked up two creditable away results before the defeat by Notts County, with a win at Leyton Orient and a 2-2 draw with Plymouth.

"We've been really encouraged by those two performances," Evans added. "So, not to take away any points from this game is a disappointment.

"But, the lads are still in a good place and we just have to move on from here."
