Truro City boss Lee Hodges is hopeful that full-back Durrell Berry will join the National League South club in time for Saturday's game with Ebbsfleet.

Berry has been recovering from a broken ankle he suffered while playing for Torquay United in March.

He has returned to training with the Gulls but is currently a free agent as he aims to get back to full fitness.

"It'll be a short-term fix to see how his injury goes and then we'll take it from there," Hodges told BBC Cornwall.

Berry, 24, played 26 games for Torquay in the National League last season before his injury at Dover Athletic ended his campaign.

It was the second time he had joined Torquay, having spent the first half of 2014-15 at Plainmoor while Hodges was assistant manager.

"He's a very good player," added Hodges. "Unfortunately he picked up an injury, but he's been working very hard over the last few weeks and if we can get it over the line it'll be brilliant."
