Progress? Have you looked at the PL table Rudolph?
@407 Stalington85 Think you're expectations are low. Is that same for next season or just a slight improvement. Wasn't Mourinho brought into challenge then win the title?
@406 The title challenge is but I don't consider the current situation (earlier post) a failure, based on previous three seasons.I believe you're exaggerating the 'much talk' but again already quoted/covered. Chelsea this season and last are completely different so not sure what your point is. They're blowing everyone away right now, like Leicester last year.
@405 Stalington85 I would like fans to be honest. And I would suggest your post telling us that MUFC are not failing when they have failed to mount anything like a title challenge or put any pressure at all on a Team that finished below Utd last season is deliberate dishonesty. It's not May but it is over. Also denying there was much talk about a title challenge at OT is quite peculiar.
@404 "Glazers sacked Van Gaal after 5th"They did, after more than one season in charge. Irrespective, it's Jan not May - do you want them to sack Mourinho now?If I need a job at the spin dept. then you need one nowhere near a football club.
@389 Stalington85 Rooney did say Utd would challenge for the title (many times if you check) and was completely wrongIf you think 14 pts from the top for Utd is anything but failure you should get a job at MUTVs spin department. Glazers sacked Van Gaal after 5th & the FA Cup and have spent a few hundred million since. You Utd & City fans on here are hilarious with all the bulls***
I doubt they'll win the League this season but the League cup is in the bag already, wouldn't bet against them winning the FA cup and Europa League too.
@400Newcastle lost the league to United 20 years ago, which means im probably not under 16. Maths aint your strong point hey dum dum? Im gonna finish by saying 27 years, because im pretty sure that applies to you.
Ferguson bigot , Mourinho arrogant , Man u garbage , end of !
@399 Did you disclose that you are under 16 years of age ?
Fergie is one of the greatest managers, the league has ever seen, followed a close 2nd by Paisley. Jose has proven himself in world football, starting from humble beginnings at Porto. None of the above need to prove anything to anyone. With the recent influx of quality managers joining the league, the futures bright, but no one remembers runners up, except of course Keegan at Newcastle heheh
For those saying Mourinho has bought his trophies, you might remember him winning the Champions League with Porto. As well as knocking out a Barcelona side that has been regarding as one of the best in history to win the treble with Inter
Why are the BBC giving Whiskey Nose any time or column inches? He was happy to boycott the Beeb for saying his son was a thief, sorry agent, but now it suits him he'll give us his rose tinted views on how well Mourinho is doing. They've hardly battered all the teams they drew with, indeed SAF would never go to Anfield with a bus and play for a 0-0, that's sacrilege to United's ethos.
League table doesn't lie. Utd are where they deseve to be at present. Obviously if they weren't so profligate in front of goal they could have more points and be higher up the table. Nonetheless they are still in 4 competitions. I'd say that bodes well for the future. After a poor start Chelsea are doing well because Conte tightened up the defence. Othewise not much to choose between the top 6.
@84 Mikemac - Before you bang on about the money he spent look at what he did at Aberdeen. OK, let me remind everyone then - oil rich Aberdeen drew the mighty Reds in the European cup (1980 if memory serves). Aberdeen failed to score in either leg and let in five. One at home and four away. Result: Ferguson 0 - Paisley 5.Quite clearly - they knighted the wrong man!
Inherited a team that finished 5th and won the FA cup.Spent £150 millionCurrently 6thProgress..........
@387 yes but alex ferguson won things ...thats what matters...unlike say, that thug wenger, who pushes assistant refs around and still doesnt win anything.
If you wanted to get to a Final, and then next game have a definite 3pts home banker. You could hope to be playing a poor side, that had jus for instance say, lost there midfield 3 in a week. How lucky would be if both those games were against Hull.
Arab oil money is the reason for Man City's success, just as Abramovich's billions are for Chelsea's.Man City, like Chelsea were nowhere on the radar before they were taken over by a foreign investor the old 2nd Division for Man City.Mid table mediocrity for Chelsea.Yes Man Utd are in debt from the Glazer take-over but are not reliant on the Glazers money as Chelsea and Man City are of their owners.
