On the face of it, a very badly-run club, not worth trying to manage.
I'm sick of this. Too much chopping and changing of management. McClaren rescues us from 23rd, and this is his reward?Morris out.
After three seasons of getting nowhere isn't it time to get rid of these underachievers and finally get some different players in the team and a different captain get some bigger players with strength into the team we are too lightweight Let Gary Rowett do his job Mel Morris and ship out who he sees fit however unpopular that may be CHANGE THE TEAM NOW
Is their Chairman the wally with the lolly?
Derby County need stability more than ever now, A manager needs time to achieve success and Derby are not strong enough to be a premier team at the present time so the Chairman must be patient and invest wisely in the right manager, players, and back room staff and disgard the ones who are not achieving the standard required, It seems Rowett is the chosen one, so give him time to build.
Derby big club with a great history expect to be challenging to get out of Championship same as Norwich in that sense both decisions not unexpected.
These owners don't have a clue real T0zz pots
Rowett seems to be a fine manager badly treated by Brum. If he is to succeed at Derby, however, Mr Morris will have to finance a clear-out of the disloyal, underachieving players that are ultimately responsible for this farce. They'll have been the ones moaning in his ear. My advice to Messrs Morris and Rush would be to back the new manager, slash the squad size and import unquestionable quality.
How does this guy keep getting jobs? That payout money is nice so it's working well for him.
This is how insane football is. Forest couldn't beat Burton either, are 2 points from the drop zone and still won't ditch their experimental caretaker for someone with experience. Both clubs (and more) suffering very bad ownership. The fitness to own test is not fit for purpose, obviously.
163. Posted by Will on 1 hour agoCan you imagine being paid millions for the last 3 times when you were sacked? Everyday must be Christmas for these guys ---Thats why I've stopped feeling sorry for football managers. At one point I had lot of sympathy for the way their contracts are hardly ever honoured, but if they had that much of a problem with it they'd form a union and fight it.
Derby made a big mistake sacking Clough in September 2013 and we have stagnated for 3 and a half years. The players brought in for a song by Clough are still our best assets and CE Rush ought to take responsibility for these shambles and resign immediately.Morris is a fool when he says that he wants a manager who is able to develop the team, but only gives incumbents six months or so to do this.
I don't understand why Derby now want to appoint another sacked manager to replace McClaren. Seems like an endless carousel of sacked managers swapping jobs. If he's been recently sacked by Birmingham (Rowett) what makes you think he'll be any better at Derby?
