Lee Hodges: Truro City boss insists set-piece issues 'won't happen again'

Truro City
Only Gosport have conceded more league goals than Truro, who remain eight points above the drop-zone in 18th place.

Truro City boss Lee Hodges insists his side will improve their defending from set-pieces after they lost 2-1 at home to Wealdstone.

Dan Smith scored for the National League South club, but they have now won only three of their last 15 games.

"I'm bitterly disappointed - the last two matches we've lost because of set pieces," Hodges told BBC Cornwall.

"We will touch on it, we will go through what cost us and we say no more - that isn't going to happen again."

Despite their issues defending corners and free-kicks, Hodges believes spending too much time focusing on set-pieces could be counter-productive.

He added: "I think if you do too much when there's a problem on the defensive side of it, I think everyone becomes a bit more panicky.

"Every time there's a set-play, I think everyone will be starting to panic if you're working on it 24/7."
