Boro fans knew Slothgate and Strachan were planks. People just don't pay attention it appears.
2nd rate team with a 2nd rate manager.....failure is inevitable...!
Are Middlesborough looking for a new coach yet?
Another football robot ridden with clichés
#229 #230 omg you shouldnt be drinking that much this early in the morning lads as for England winning they would struggle to win the prem league never mind the world cup
qualification for the 2018 World Cup in Russia for sure then back too the same old same old poor results 3 games and out our last chance and best chance in the past of winning anything was when that idiot hoddle was in charge the players we had then now this bunch of not fit to wear the shirt have alot to give back to us fans and they are not good enough mostly over ratted over paid wannabes
England of late haven't even reached the QFs (which used to be the measure of their success). There's something about Southgate which I like, and I feel he will keep the team honest. Will England win the WC? Probably not, but with the right blend of players (and no dodgy experiments with Kane taking corners etc) they could do well. If they perform I wouldn't rule out a SF place, but probably QFs..
I think this guy's going to ruthless in his selections. He will pick players to get them to where he wants them to be , then drop them like a brick re Glen Hoddle. So watch out Defoe.
England are certain to win the world cup in Russia, no point going otherwise.
England will win the World Cup in 2018. This is no false dawn.
I think he'll do alright. I doubt he'll win anything as England's squad isn't in the top 5 in the world, but I bet when England arrive at the world cup they won't have centre forwards hitting corners and 'trying out' new things like Rooney in midfield. He'll turn up with a good, settled squad and do exactly as well as most people would predict, looking at the squad.
England just might surprise all the negative supporters in the next World Cup, they have a strong pool of players, Southgate is no mug and there are no easy teams these days. They are top of their group, yet everyone is moaning! What are they supposed to do ? As a Scot, I wish we could be in that position. Enjoy it and cheer the team on FF sake.
What next? We will progress to the finals having faced the mighty teams of Slovakia, Lithuania and other assorted carpenters and plumbers who play football at weekends. The press will print more and more laughable editorials of "a repeat of 1966" and we will be subjected to more cringe inducing records by the team in the music charts. Then we will get booted out in the quarter finals :-)
What next?Qualification, embarrassment, repeat.
Southgate talks about implementing a culture, but this is something like Steve McClaren used to say.People seem to be impressed by him using the latest managerial buzzwords, such as "playing it out from the back" and "pressing", but he has got a long way to show he is the right man for the job, and wasn't just appointed because he was seen as a safe choice. Results are ultimately gonna define him.
Give the job to Ranieri.Worth it just for the look on Vardy's face!
I will sacrifice a goat to give Southgate good luck.
What now for England ? the article asks....Gee let me think, how about qualification and then humiliation, as per recent other major tournaments ?...I am just floating that as the first thing that popped into my head.
