The top two in League Two both won away from home to keep the gap in the title race at just one point.

Leaders Forfar were convincing 3-0 winners at Stirling Albion, while Arbroath came from behind to win 5-2 at Annan.

Elgin City came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Berwick Rangers.

Bottom club Cowdenbeath picked up three crucial points with a 1-0 win over second from bottom Clyde, while Montrose beat Edinburgh City 3-0.

Jim Lister opened the scoring for Forfar in the 14th minute before two goals from Danny Denholm either side of half-time wrapped up the points.

Ryan McCord gave Arbroath a second minute lead, but although Annan had Steve Swinglehurst dismissed, Peter Weatherson and Jordan Stewart edged them ahead.

Steven Doris levelled three minutes before half-time and he went on to net a hat-trick, with Bryan Prunty also getting on the scoresheet.

Greg Rutherford and Aaron Murrell both scored within a minute to give Berwick a two-goal lead at Elgin.

However, Thomas Reilly pulled a goal back just before the interval and Brian Cameron earned them a point with an 82nd-minute effort.

Andrew Stevens, Paul Watson and Aiden O'Brien got the goals which gave Montrose a comfortable home win over Edinburgh City.

Dale Carrick's 52nd-minute winner at Central Park moved Cowdenbeath to within a point of their opponents Clyde.
