I loved Scholes as a footballer, but as a pundit he is lacking. Rashford has learned how to kick with his left foot from the same coaches who taught Rooney. He has as much chance of being a world star as I have. When will English footballers learn that other English footballers are no where near as good as they all seem to think they are? Deluded fools who have won nothing in Euros or World Cup!
Most Man Utd fans don't care too much about other teams I guess because we're satisfied with our own. People called us glory supporters, we're still here supporting our team through thick and thin. Man utd fans fight back!!!
Its just more words in a world were there is so much space for more words. Lets see what he does on the pitch, over a large number of games, not three. He had a decent game against a very poor opponent, made to look good by how bad everyone else was. Give me a shout when he has lead England to a U21 trophy. All our best young players should go. Might learn to win, and help the senior team.
@178.UEFA tried to impose that rule a number of years ago.The Clubs and Associations in Europe weren't having it so it was quietly dropped. That was pre premiership though so you probably weren't born or old enough to remember it.
What if the U21s win? Would be great experience for some England players to have experienced not just being in a semi-final and final but to win a tournament.
I came here hoping for some interesting discussion about this topic.... it's all bitterness and my club's better than yours.
Unlike Danny Mills Jermaine Jenas Robbie Savage John Hartson Danny Highinbottom and an onion, Paul Scholes knows his football and as a pundit I would listen to him. He rightfully predicts Rashford is the best british talent we have and will be a superstar soon. The other pundits will be on Strictly soon probably!
Rashford is fresh , under used at moment by Maureen and could given time be decent .World class Scholes ?Remember the younger generation forcing their way through at O.T being the greatest.Januzaj,Powell, brazilian twins ,the italian against villa,Cleverley !!!!!! All world class lol.Do what you did in your playing career Mr tinted specs Scholes and keep your ridiculous comments to yourself.
Have to agree with 198, neymar far too greedy and you can see messi/suarez reaction other night couple of times, once messi said something to bench and pointed at neymar much to luis annoyance...rashford decent but no more than januzai/macheda etc..pace not much else..
im Scottish and even I admit the lad certainly has talent. In fact I think theres a large number of young English players who look like they can become class acts for club/country in the future. Do a Spain and nurture them in under 21 games to build up teamwork and mutual respect and in a few years there could be a mighty strong and cohesive national side. Dont let them get overhyped now though!
Rashford has an awful lot of potential, far more than the likes of Januzaj,Macheda et al-He is far from the finished product and I well remember the likes of Ronaldo,Giggs,Scholes making poor decisions in terms of shooting, poor crossing etc when they were the same age-but he will learn and improve(as long as Jose plays him regularly that is!!!!)
@203. Simple then don't read the article then. Der!
It's an interview we don't need.I'm sick of biased, self serving interviews from ex pros.So many pundits can't see passed their old club allegiance and overhype young players. The media is full of ex Tottenham, Liverpool and MU players who seem to have forgotten they no longer play and can let the old prejudice go.
@183.Ben who? I've never heard of him.Who does he play for North Ferriby? It can't be a big club otherwise we would have heard of him if he is that good.
@200. Please expand. I'm confused by your comment. Is it, right foot goals , left foot goals, headed goals, Rabona crosses, nutmegs or blistering pace to name but a few? Which one were you thinking of?
