About blooming time, only be 22 years after video was introduced for use by refs in Rugby
Two better way of improving football. 1. Instead of calling it 'Booked for diving/simulation', call it 'Booked for cheating' on tv. 2. Instead of 'Booked for dissent', write it 'Booked for swearing' in screen. When managers are asked '(insert player name) was booked for cheating, what do you think?' and the press write '(insert player/manger name) was sent off swearing', they will take notice.
I don't understand complaints about video reviews causing a break in play. Goals and red cards break play anyway. I'm sure it's only the fans of clubs who habitually benefit from referee intimidation who are getting upset. What we need next is retrospective bans for feigning injury. I'll put the mortgage money on Man U to go down THAT season. From match 3 on they'd not be able to field a full team
There have been incidents in past World Cups which were not judged correctly by the referee but were obvious to much of the crowd, TV audiences and many of the players themselves. If I was a referee I would want this technology so I wasn't turned into a public enemy by [insert country] supporters' for getting something big wrong.
Careful what you wish for - Mendes goal disallowed v Man Utd - STILL talked about. Take the controversy out the game & you'll lose much of the debate on the work floor. How long do you think it will be before adverts start making their way into the stoppages?Players make human errors, so do referees. It's all part & parcel of the game.Video refs will still make mistakes. It ain't broke!
this is a joke, both team stop playing, hawkeye challenge, one team celebrating, match re-start.... what's football become nowadays!!!
I hope to God that the untermentions don't broadcast porn at half time on this video gubbins....sponsored by the West Ham owners.
If England get there, they won't be able to cheat like 66 then 😀
Shame PL not bringing video refs next season. Would have loved to have seen Moanrinho's face
Video referees in the most corrupt country in the world ? What does Joey "The Book" think ?
Football has lived in the dark ages too long. Modern technology and rules need to be in tune with the modern game. Allowing goals to stand from an offside position, as an example, is laughable. Allowing players to swear at & surround referees without punishment is just plain wrong. Suspending players in future games for bad tackles benefits the wrong teams. Football needs video and a sin bin.
Video Technology?Only about 40 years too late!
Say no to technology.
If they can get a smooth enough system to stop players diving to get penalties(and subsequently ban them) or have players sent off for things that aren't even fouls then I'm all for it.... goals and red cards CHANGE GAMES and it doesn't serve the team that is on the wrong end of the decision to have it rescinded after the fact... now whether they get it right on review is another matter altogether
When this is introduced managers will no longer be able to use referees as an excuse. Those who call for this should ponder the fact that if this had been around in 1966 it is questionable whether England's third goal in the World Cup final would have been allowed; be careful what you wish for.
Mourinho would have been sacked by now
The trial at the Emirates had French subtitles....
ECT is the only technology you could benefit from. FOOL
