When the dust settles the Spanish waiter has achieved nothing more than was expected so the pressure will be on him next season. If he doesn't come out of the traps like a greyhound stabilizing in a top half position he'll be history.
Great drama all over yesterday. Ncle fans are so happy because it was so unexpected and so un-newcastle like, to take the trophy after Brighton were 7pts ahead, most had already accepted they would finish top. Far from being deluded most ncle fans are realists and quite pessimistic!. For Villa to help them was pure karma after the abuse toon fans took from some ( a lot of them) last year/2009.
Newcastle seemed to want the title a bit more. Brighton were just so happy to finally go up, and because of the gap they probably took it for granted a bit and paid the price. As I said on the other board, from where Brighton were in the 90's it's amazing that they could easily get promoted yet be a bit disappointed.Already excited for next year, whatever happens.
re; donaldo... safc rock bottom
Well done to Both Newcastle and Brighton. The Premier League will be a richer place for these two fine clubs being in it.
As a Newcastle fan, this is the perfect end to the season. Champions and Chris Hughton's Brighton also promoted. Chris will always be well received at St. James by the fans.
As a Brighton supporter I congratulate the Magpies on their return to the Premiership. The tussle we had with Newcastle was touch and go for most of the season, a good challenge for both teams. Shame their can only be one cup winner. I look forward to watching the progress of both teams in the Premiership next season.
@126 - yep because the parachute payments have really helped Norwich and Aston Villa bounce straight back also havent they........!
Now we know the relegation candidates from next seasons PL
@127 yeah mate and we all know where the money went,in mike ashleys off shore bank account.
Well done to Newcastle and Brighton, now for Reading in the play-offs
126 - Yeah, blame parachute payments, not the fact they made over £85 million in the transfer market.
Hardly surprising when iniquitous parachute payments from the poison-chalice PL utterly distort the competition.Brighton are the real story.
And frankly speaking ... I never spelt Hughton's name properly when he managed us either!
7 points clear with 3 games to go. Poets and singers booked to celebrate the championship win at the amex stadium. Just shows how unforgiving top sport is until the fat lady clears her throat and sings!
46 games and the title decided in the last minute .That's why we keep coming back.
Nice to see the Geordies & Raf back next season! Well done
Ils Championes & Balance Sheet Champions again! Lads, you made me proud. Mr Ashley, please let Rafa spend some dosh. Thanks for a great season xc
