That's why he dumped Ryan Giggs...& Rooney too
86. my grandson is at same level as jordan henderson and he is 7years old.
Here is an HYS about European football, but nothing for the women in reaching the semi-finals of Euro 2017, so I will have to say it here. Many, many congratulations on the win tonight, girls. What you now need to do is to nullify the Dutch wingers, and after that cope with the two pacy Danish forwards, and the trophy should be yours. This will eclipse anything the men have done since 1966.
Fair play to Monaco, doing it the right way, rather than the lazy way of buy, buy, buy, a la JM & Pep. Ill advised for any kids to stay at these clubs, where the obsession with spending crazy money on expensive foreigners persist, sad really. Monaco must be loving it
English teams can NEVER do something like this. Far too many reasons, e.g. English players are simply not good, the stupidity of the "power and pace" mentality, etc.
Credit to Monaco, a great model that produces world class talent. Am angry that we in the UK fail to do the same. Many of the top 6 in England have yet to produce a decent player each. Kane is quality, as is Rashford, yet City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool combined have brought through no one, preferring to spend untold millions on other players and ignoring their own academies. MADNESS!
Don't Play! Just go to Penalties and Give Them The Cup!! LOL LOL!!!

This is a really great article. So refreshing to find such insightful fact based analysis on the BBC.
Don't think they can compete with PSG next season
Even lower table premier league teams wont play young talent so no point in them going down this route. Southampton and Everton do it but no one else. Just content to get the tv money
Martial ? he is really not that good, he needs removing from your list.
Wouldn't include Martial to be honest. He is bang average! 😂
Really good article, and shows what you can do if you focus on the right areas. Really wish my club was developing as much youth talent as Monaco does. They probably won't win the CL for a very long time as they can't keep the squad together long enough, but they'll still get some decent success, such as last season. And they should sell Mbappe. Quality prospect, nowhere near worth £100m
@90 U13716022To be fair, that price has been adjusted for the fall in the £ against the € after Brexit.Though the fee was still high for an unknown prospect, I believe the original worked out at around £36m + £20m in potential add-ons for a total of £56m.European clubs deal in Euros, hence pre-brexit signings with instalments left to pay are now more expensive for British clubs.
European clubs must love it when a PL club comes in for one of their players. They can completely fleece them out of big bucks and the PL clubs are none the wiser.
Newcastle under Ashley and Graham Carr, tried to do what Monaco do and indeed seemed only to sign players from the French league that no-one had heard of, offering them a shop window. Sadly but predictably Newcastle didn't always- or even often- buy the right people. Too many poor performers wanting away before they'd achieved, kept getting relegated, and never found gold. Need to choose right!
@89Typical post from one of those "this is going to be our year" LFC supporter, ignoring facts in a dig at United.Rashford and Lingard are two names that have emerged from United's academy to become regulars, both having already won FA cup, Europa cup & League cup winners medals. And rest assured more will follow this year.
"Yet Monaco continually produce some of the most coveted footballers in the world."Continually? 1 or 2 seasons maybe. Talk to Porto. There tactic has been to raid youth teams of Europe, still spending money (Tielemans, £23m). It's not quite as romantic as people are making out.
