Highlights: Rangers 4-1 Dundee

Alfredo Morelos scored twice as Rangers comfortably beat Dundee at Ibrox and recorded successive Scottish Premiership wins.

The striker's low shot gave the hosts a lead at the break and substitute Josh Windass headed their second.

Windass turned provider for Carlos Pena's first goal for Rangers and Morelos forced in another.

Dundee replied through Faissal El Bakhtaoui, firing low after a meandering run.

Rangers move on to 10 points after five games, a point behind St Johnstone and three off Aberdeen and Celtic. Dundee are bottom on one point, below Kilmarnock and Partick Thistle on goal difference.

Colombian Morelos had scored twice in the Ibrox side's last outing - a 3-1 win at Ross County - and was prominent in their attacking play again against a struggling Dundee side.

He fired over and drew a save from Scott Bain as Pedro Caixinha's side pressed for their first home league win of the season.

Kenny Miller, Bruno Alves and Niko Kranjcar had earlier threatened for the hosts, while Dundee withdrew midfielder Scott Allan after 38 minutes and introduced recent signing A-Jay Leitch-Smith for his debut.

And it was from a Daniel Candeias pass that Morelos struck his opener.

Dundee had rarely threatened but Roarie Deacon and then Kerr Waddell were off target with efforts while Miller and Candeias tested goalkeeper Bain.

Windass replaced Kranjcar and latched on to Candeias' cross to nod his first Premiership goal since joining Rangers last year.

The English midfielder then set up Pena's left-foot shot high into the net, the Mexican midfielder having earlier come on for Miller.

And Morelos beat Bain from a tight angle to extend Rangers' advantage.

El Bakhtaoui netted from the edge of the box to give Dundee some consolation but Neil McCann's side remain without a league win since early May.

Post-match reaction

Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha: "So far [Morelos] has five in the league. It's early in the season but I know that he wants [to score 25 this season]. We are working with him. He's a young boy. He's keen to learn and always listens.

"He is getting his English better to understand the others. I can speak Spanish, so it's easy for me to communicate with him and let him understand what we want. So give him time to learn and build his confidence. He has the tools. He's a goalscorer, definitely, but we want more from him. We will help him get better like we help all the players.

"The boys did really well. We had a lot of chances and played some good football. We reorganised things at half-time to look for more goals and the second goal calmed down the team.

"The team are getting more confidence with the second straight victory in the league. It was also good for the confidence of Carlos [Pena] to score his first goal."

Dundee manager Neil McCann: "I'm not concerned about where we are in the league - but that's not to say I'm happy about it. I'm far from happy about it.

"Anyone who knows me will know that I won't accept a defeat easily. But I can't be overcritical of my boys.

"I asked them to be brave today. It's a sore lesson but we'll dust ourselves down. I'm not panicking at all."
