The Premier League is too competitive for Kane to win the Ballon d'Or. The Spanish League clearly has the best teams but Barca and Madrid get too many easy games each season that you know they'll win five or six nil before a ball is kicked. As a result, there are lots of cheap goals up for grabs. Hat-tricks are hard-earned in England, not so in Spain.
He needs to jump from the Cavani, Higuain bracket into the Neymar/Lewandowski bracket, i think he can do that as he's been consistently good for 2-3 years now, but he will need to leave spurs for a 'big' club.
Best out and out striker in the world at the moment. Fantastic all round game and great team ethic. Would get in any team. #Mustard #OneOfOurOwn COYS!
@611. Shearer never won it. Xavi, Iniesta, David Villa never won it. Christian Vieri never won it. Raul never won it.Honestly, I could go on. There are plenty of players who I think are/were on a completely different level to Harry Kane, who didn't win that award in their careers.
@611. Kane will need to win the Champions League or the Euros, or the World Cup to have a shot at the Ballon D'or. He doesn't have a hope of doing any of those things with Spurs or England. And think about it: Beckham, Gerrard, Rooney, Scholes, Henry never won it. Even Thierry Henry didn't! He was runner up once.Do you honestly think Harry Kane is better than any of those names?
Your talking about a player who won the golden boot 3 years on the trot. He plays for a team who came 2nd and 3rd in the last 2 season and who were the better team in the semi final loss to Chelsea last year. He is the best chance of winning the award the PL has. Anybody who says different is just jealous he is not playing for their team. Once spurs get there new stadium he will be paid better
No chance whatsoever.
Very good club player, postpone the vote until he does it at international level! Looks bang average for England! He is crap in the air for a centre forward. Cristiano is great in the air, lightening fast and great with both feet! Kane as good as him? Sober up lads!
Haha this headline is funny trying not to wet myself
604Dad's take their kids to a football match, fully aware more swearing, verbal and hand gestures, will come from the crowd than players.
It's would be very difficult to make anything out of that steaming pile of poo of a comment than a steaming pile of poo. He's got more chance than he has if he played for Liverpool (hahahah as if) because he's in a good team with a good manager.--"598. I HATE MUFC LFC onQuite simply...NO...reason...He plays for the spurs.Make of that what you will..."
@604Because you've never sworn or told an inappropriate joke in from of a kid before. Most of these kids have parents buying then grand theft auto for their 10th birthday and have heard / seen it all before. Something tells me you're a fan of a team that plays in red trying to stir up some shizzle.
Why can't we comment on Dele Alli (article) and his behaviour, and that the FA have sent video clips to defend his swearing. Does it really matter whether it was aimed at Walker or the ref...he's a footballer on TV with children admiring him. Kids hear him being defended for doing it make it seem it's ok.
The other amusing headline is the arsenal game.
If anything , surely this shows why the ball on d'Or is a flawed accolade. If Kane was playing for say, Stoke and was outperforming Ronaldo, Messi et al in the EPL and Europe, I guarantee he would not even be in the running. So basically , its not about being a great player, but whether or not you play for Real or Barca. Is this UEFAs way of making sure those two clubs keep their stranglehold?
Think there's only slim chance and he'll have to move to Barcelona or Real for that to happen. Then he's up against Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, Mbappe, Suarez, etc, etc and on top of that he'll need to keep scoring in big tournaments and remain injury free, there's a long list of great players who never won it. So only a slim chance when put in perspective. Nice lad is Harry though!
