Scottish League Two: Montrose go top as Elgin thump Berwick
Montrose moved top of Scottish League Two with a 1-0 win at Stenhousemuir.
Terry Masson's first-half goal ensured the visitors climbed a point clear of Stirling Albion, whose home match against Peterhead was postponed.
Elgin City moved into the top three with a 5-1 rout of Berwick Rangers.
Bottom side Cowdenbeath's winless league run stretched to 12 games with a goalless draw at Edinburgh City, and there were no goals either between Annan Athletic and Clyde.
At Links Park, Masson slotted home from Christopher Templeman's knockdown after just 15 minutes to extend Montrose's unbeaten run to six games.
Meanwhile, Bruce Anderson put Elgin ahead 10 minutes before half-time and Darryl McHardy added a second three minutes into the second period.
Gary Phillips pulled one back in the 58th minute, but Elgin responded with two quick-fire goals. First, Brian Cameron scored from the rebound of his saved penalty before Anderson headed in his second. Declan Byrne added a fifth with two minutes left.
Cowdenbeath missed the chance to move off the foot of the table with their stalemate at home with second-bottom Edinburgh City.
And Annan's Aidan Smith fired a 62nd-minute penalty over the crossbar in his side's goalless draw with Clyde at Galabank.
