Barrow defender Dave Nieskens leaves National League club by mutual consent
Barrow's Dutch defender Dave Nieskens has left the National League club by mutual agreement.
The 23-year-old made eight first-team appearances after arriving from the Netherlands in the summer and scored in a 3-3 draw at Solihull Moors.
His last game was against Tranmere in early September, when he went off with a knee injury after 23 minutes.
Barrow managing director Andrew Casson said they had released Nieskens to allow him to return home for treatment.
"We have mutually agreed to the termination of Dave's contact so he could go back to Holland and focus on getting healthy and getting back into football," he explained.
"It's better for him and us that he be allowed to stay back at home and get the care he needs there. We wish Dave the best in his recovery and the next steps in his career."
