187 AFCB_DaveA foul doesn't have to be intentional. Most are accidental but in all walks of life you owe a duty of care to your fellow man. An overhead kick with no-one near is OK but if someone's about to head the ball or in line for the follow thru you've failed to fulfill your duty of care so penalised according to the danger you create as the dope who fired the crossbow bolt onto the Oval.
err 190 Wilson admitted he was a lying cheating scumbagg on MOTD and said he got a touch. That was after he got in the refs face repeatedly.Only one piece of evidence. Then the pundits say that it was a bad decision but was ok because of the number of chances they had was nonsense
189. Posted by Spider52 - love to see you back that ridiculous comment with some facts.
Everybody seems to think that Bournemouth are incapable of doing anything wrong, especially the MOTD pundits. The truth is that they are a bunch of sly, diving, cheating weasels, managed by a deceitful manager.
@187 Dave, I repeat, not knowing the player is there is not an excuse, it’s still supposed to be a red card.
Andy Carroll - there was a game recently, might be Swansea, might not, he was actually sent off for two x yellow cards for his elbows, not one straight red. So Moyes is a bit off comparing him to the Francis incident. I still can't see how Francis could be a red though, surely he would only be endangering an opponent if he knew he was actually there!?
@185: In fairness, Dave's comment is on the clash between King & (I think) Obiang; not Francis' boot & Kouyate's face! That should have been a red - "endangers the safety of an opponent and must be sent off" from #173 is a direct quote from the IFAB rules of the game. The King clash wasn't of that order of contact. Although ISTR Carroll being sent off against Swansea for a similar incident.
@AFCB Dave - mate, it doesn’t matter if it was an accident, if a player is going to raise his studs to face height, it is HIS responsibility to make sure there are no faces nearby. He knows he’s not playing alone in the middle of a field. Intent or not, rules say it’s a red card.
This was the most inept display of refereeing I have ever seen. I am checking regularly to find out how many games the incompetent Madley will be downgraded for. His display was a disgrace to all professional referees. No wonder they have a bad name.
@180 - a fair response overall. I would still say that Carroll [ while not always at fault ] has a fair idea that he is being challenged in the air when he is throwing his elbow out. Francis did not know the player was there with his though. As for Wilson, as I say, down to the officials to ignore what any player is saying to them!
@180: I'd agree - every pro is, essentially, a cheat. I'd also agree the King clash was entirely accidental. But comparisons 'twixt Wilson & divers are entirely valid, and Moyes has a point when he compares Carroll's recent red with Francis' foot. Either all are deceit or endangering, or none are. It's consistency that fans want most, isn't it?
The control freak over-rules the jobsworth!....and the credibility of the game sinks further into the mire.
