Northampton Town appoint John Pemberton as first-team coach
Northampton Town have appointed former Bristol City assistant John Pemberton as the club's first-team coach.
The 53-year-old ex-Crewe and Sheffield United defender was sacked by the Robins in March following a poor run of form in the Championship.
Pemberton will work alongside Cobblers manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and his number two Dean Austin.
"He's hands on, he's a very good, modern coach and he'll help the players get better together," Hasselbaink said.
He told BBC Radio Northampton: "I think it's very important, if we want younger players at the club, that we work with them to make them better and he's that kind of coach."
