Sam Hutchinson: Sheffield Wednesday midfielder laments 'horrendous' season
Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Sam Hutchinson has said this season is the worst he has had with the club.
The 28-year-old, who joined the Championship side in February 2014, has only made four appearances so far this campaign because of injury.
"It's been horrendous. This is the worst season that I have had here," he told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"I had an injury at the end of last season and I was never fit from that and then tried to rush back."
Hutchinson's last game for Carlos Carvalhal's men was on 14 October in a 2-1 defeat at Bolton.
The Owls have reached the play-offs in the last two campaigns but are 10 points off the top six after a run of six games without a win.
Despite their poor form, Hutchinson believes the team have the capability to get back into the promotion contention.
"Sometimes you lose games of football. Maybe this is just our period, we've had three months that weren't very good and we've had a lot of injuries and we go again in the new year. You never know what might happen," he added.
"Football is crazy. I think people think too much into it. Everyone looks to the end of the season immediately but when you're a footballer you have to be pragmatic and look one game at a time.
"I know how good this club could be because otherwise I wouldn't keep signing to stay here."
